Create-a-Wrestler modes can be so much fun. Lube and I have been cracking up over our creations during the last hour. I think we could go on all night with this…and we might! I hope whatever games you’re playing, you’re also enjoying them with friends. Local multiplayer can be a wonderful thing! See you all in a few, short hours.
If there’s a game coming out on the Wii, 360 and PS3, I like to support the Wii version. Sometimes the Wii outing of a multiplatform game can be radically different from the other versions, and it actually ends up being quite good. Just take a look at the upcoming release of Thor, where the Wii version is getting some great impressions thus far. I really can’t think of an instance of when I skipped over a Wii outing just to grab a 360/PS3 version of a game…until last week.
As some of you guys know, I’m a big fan of the WWE. We just had our warehouse get-together on Sunday for Wrestlemania, and it was an absolute blast. Quite honestly, video games, wrestling and anime are the big three when it comes to my entertainment. They each fill a specific level of enjoyment in my life, and sometimes the activities end up bleeding into each other. That’s exactly what happens with gaming and the WWE every year, with WWE video games hitting just about every platform.
This year we got a double dose of WWE gaming with WWE Smackdown Vs. RAW and the brand-new WWE All Stars. For months on end I was trying to get information on the Wii version, but THQ was pretty tight-lipped about it. Again, this isn’t anything unusual for Wii fans, as we all know that most publishers stay quiet about Wii outings for some unknown reason. Anyway, the one fact that I could sort out was that the Wii version wasn’t going to have DLC.
When you’re talking about a WWE game, you can expect a lot of DLC. There’s all kinds of ring gear to add in, not to mention full wrestlers themselves. With WWE All Stars, there are just so many DLC options in the works that I couldn’t ignore getting the 360 version. The Wii fan in me wanted to support that version, but the wrestling fan knew that the 360/PS3 versions were going to be the better value. While I have the latest Smackdown Vs. RAW on Wii, this is the first wrestling game I’ve bought exclusively for 360.
Have DLC options pushed any of you guys to steer away from a Wii purchase? If so, leave a comment and let us know. I’d love to hear how you feel about this situation, especially with DLC becoming more important as we move on in the game industry.

After smashing into the first tunnel for the fifth time in a row in the Shooting Gallery mission, I was ready to give up on Pilotwings Resort for the first time since I slipped it into my Nintendo 3DS two weeks ago but reading your positive comments on the game has made me want to go back and finish it. Especially as it seems that there are more goodies waiting for me if I manage to get three stars on every mission.
