Nintendo 3DS Super Pokemon Scramble Rumble

Looks like Pokemon is starting to heat up on the Nintendo 3DS. Earlier this week, owners of the portable 3D gaming device we given the free 3D Pokedex. As if that wasn’t enough, now there’s word that the 2009 WiiWare game Pokemon Rumble (Pokemon Scramble in the UK) will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS in July (Japan first). The new game is titled Super Pokemon Rumble (how clever). No word exactly on when to expect Super Pokemon Rumble to show up stateside or in the UK but rest assured, it’s coming!

What do you think, is this a good move for the 3DS? Did you play the original WiiWare game? Will you get it for the 3ds??

Will You Wii U?

by Pokémaster on June 7, 2011

Nintendo Wii U

Meet the Nintendo Wii U

Nintendo announced their long-rumored new console the Wii U. As expected, it is HD and backwards compatible with all existing Wii games. Along with the new console (is it a new console?) comes an incredible new Wii U controller. If there’s one thing that Nintendo does well is innovate in the game play area. The idea of 2 screen gaming in the living room is *very* exciting. One gamer holding the Wii U controller and accessing an entirely different aspect of the game while the main user is interacting with items on screen. It’s a brilliant concept.

The New Nintendo Wii U Controller

And while this is huge for Nintendo it reminds me of how they announced the original Wii. At that E3, they showed a brand new console that was innovative and offered brand new game play mechanics but they only showed the possibility of what is to come rather than show us what we can expect. Nintendo is a great hardware company but they are a much better software company – so why not show off Mario on the Wii U?

So, what do you think of this announcement? Will you Wii U at launch?

The promotions include the Pokémon Café Catalogue, which contains a total of seven new Décor, and the Pokémon Café C-Gear skin, which can be unlocked using 「ポケモンカフェ」 Pokémon Café as the password.

Upon entering Pokémon Dream World, players are also given an option when they are directly outside their home—a chance to go to the Pokémon Café in the Dream World, home of a Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour. From there, they may go to a new area on the Island of Dreams: the Pokémon Café Forest. The forest, which may look like the Pleasant Forest available from the start, is where, after playing a game unique to the area, players may befriend the Pokémon Poliwhirl, Eevee, Smeargle, and Burmy, which may have varying moves and genders, as well as obtain several items only available in the forest, like the Lum Berry. by Pokémaster on May 26, 2011

Dueling Anagrams

At first I thought, “I’ll take a some video game titles and create anagrams of their names. Should be pretty quick to do and fun, as well. Though, I should probably limit it to only five titles.” Well, that was four hours ago and at the very moment I am writing this post, I still need one more to do.

Spring 2011 Battle Road Victory Medal Card

by Pokémaster on May 26, 2011

Thanks to Jason, we now have a scan of the Spring 2011 Victory Medal promo card. While the card still features Typhlosion, the posture is different than the Fall Battle Road card (though similar) and the medal is colored gold rather than silver. The card was originally released in Japan in 2009 as promo #027/L-P, meaning it’s a bit old! (Oddly, its English release is copyrighted 2010 instead of 2011.)
