Anyone else getting just a bit tired of Winter? I’m ready to have the windows open! I want that Spring air rushing in, the sunshine beating down and the cool breeze rushing through the warehouse. Spring is just a safer time of the year for travel as well! No worries about ice or snow…none of that nonsense. I think I’ll dream of Spring while I head to bed tonight. Can you stand all the new platform talk? It seems like it was just a few days ago that we were discussing just what the 3DS would look like. Now, here we are a few weeks away from launch. We know what the system looks like, we know the capabilities it offers, and we have a fair idea of what will be available on launch day.

As we take in that news and prepare for launch, Sony has started the long road to putting out their next portable. Just last night they announced the device, showed off their design for the first time, and detailed the capabilities of the platform. No doubt, it’s an enticing platform for any gamer out there. There are still details like official release date and price point that need to be worked out, but I’m sure plenty of you guys and gals are keeping an eye on it.

These two platforms are going to butt heads in the future, and gamers all around the web are already doing so in defense of each company. 3DS will best the NGP…NGP will eliminate the 3DS. You know how it goes, these kind of conversations always happen. We’re having one right now on my personal Facebook page, and it’s quite an engaging one at that!

It’s that very discussion that has lead me to ask you guys this question. When you’re looking at a new platform, what is it that matters most to you? Let’s ignore the new, surprise features that you can’t factor in. Instead, let’s focus on the elements that are always going to be a part of a new platform purchase. I’m talking about graphics, controls, price point, multiplayer aspects and other such elements. When it comes down to your decision to purchase or hang back, what one of these elements pushes you into plopping down your cash?
