Weekly Bleach: Chapter 412

Perhaps Bleach will end soon, because everyone’s favorite femme fatale Rangiku appeared in front of Aizen and Gin, ready to kick both of their sorry butts. I’m sure she probably has gotten stronger since the last time we saw her, and I’m also sure she has a bankai that can end both of these evil, evil men for good. Or do I got things all wrong and she really sucks?
 

The Good

Well, I’m glad I was wrong, because if Rangiku really saved the day I would be very upset; that’s Ikkaku’s job after all. Of course Rangiku came all this way so that she can put a stop to the man she used to call a friend, and ask him why he is doing all of this. When asked this serious question, Gin really doesn’t have the answer. The only thing he does do is of course knock her to the ground. Shucks, I really expected more from her; though since Aizen and Gin separated I’m expecting a more significant fight to develop. 
Don Kanonji and Arisawa both escape with their lives thanks to Rangiku’s help. Though they have no real place to run since Aizen plans on destroying the city anyways. Either way they run into Asano, who now possesses Mr. Afro Shinigami’s zanpakuto. But will they be able to run away from Aizen in time. 

The Bad

Man was this chapter short. It almost feels as if I’m reading nothing at all. Of course Rangiku does nothing once more, though something good might come in future chapters, but so far nothing. 

The Verdict 2/5

The next chapter will be interesting because we will see what happens with this mysterious zanpakuto these children found, and we might see a Rangiku fight; a real honest to god Rangiku fight.

Yūki Hayashi's Kaichū! High School Archery Manga Gets a Streaming Movie

I admit I have never read a single page of  Yūki Hayashi’s , but hearing over at ANN that it was being turned into a streaming web movie actually did pique my interest. This Saturday the second volume of the manag will be released in Japan, and to celebrate, Shueisha’s Young Jump website will host an original four minute movie, which features characters Tatsuya Tachikawa and  Gonzaburō Fudō ( Tatsuya is an archery student and  Gonzaburō is a new transfer student).
 
It seems there will be a second anime (also short in format) streaming on July 30th as well. I’ve actually never read any manga set against an archery background — I think it sounds pretty interesting. Plus, if you’ve seen even on harem anime, you can’t help but think that bow would come in handy for shooting a hopeless mail chaarcter. The Keitaros of the world better watch their back – -a lady with a bow is a dangerous thing!

Evangelion Racing Team Adds a Mari Model to Their Arsenal

What do you get when you combine Evangelion and race queens? Well, total win, of course. We spotted over at  Figure.fm today that a model has been cast into the role of Mari to join the Rei and Asuka that make up the Evangelion Racing Team.
 
Izumi Terumi is the lucky lady that gets to play the role of Mari, andit’s pretty much a sure bet that she’ll have Eva fans drooling. Photos prove that the young lady knows what to do to look her cutest. Which of these girls is the cutest to you? I think i favor the Rei, even if her hair isn’t quite the right color…

One Piece and New Transit Yurikamome join forces, Nami takes over

I’m all for anime/real life collaborations, especially when they star some of my favorite characters, so when I spotted over at Natalie today that there was this cool Japanese event  launching on July 17th, I knew I had to spread the word. Apparently the New Transit Yurikamome trains will be “taken over” by Nami through the end of August as a promotion for the upcoming recent One Piece release on July 23rd (Vol. 1 being “East Blue” and Vol. 2. being “Sanji”) . You can see the full list of stations included over at Natalie as well.
 
So yeah, it’d be cool to hear Nami’s voice on the trains. But seriously, if someone walks around on them wearing that costume in the photo above, I am going to likely crawl under my seat. Why are real life anime costumes so frightening looking? Yeesh…
