Pokemon Season 1 Box Set – Indigo League

In his teenage years ago, this show opened a door to my imagination, want to “Pokémon” be real, so could the world to walk with my friends or family. It is a very interesting story, with names easy to remember, it is believing in yourself, your dreams and take care of others. I first met in Pokémon with fashion to die because he would not be caught in the madness. My sister, who is a year younger than Pokémon was when I first arrived in America, and finally put me in Japanese animation such as these and other basic programs such as “Sailor Moon” and “Tenchi Muyo” series. This Pokémon is boxest in the English language, no subtitles on the disc is not, but the show’s subtitle for his TV remote control, also there is no special feature and the banned episodes that have not appeared on American television here. Furthermore, without special features or banned episodes, remains a big box set of the first half of the first season.

I enjoyed watching Pokemon when I was growing up, so if you set it to white, which had to do it. Unfortunately, Viz Media does not quite live up to the anime DVD standards by other companies. The general lack of quality was very disappointing.

– The cases are very thin and weak. My first thought when I played was “contraband.” The field of art is full of color, but actually kind of plain. There simply is not as polished and professional than other anime DVDs, which was shocking since I dare say Pokemon is probably one of the most popular (or at least forward-known) anime series of all time. In addition, there was no betting: a list of episodes that looks exactly the same as in the back of each DVD. (I wonder why bother?)

– DVD menus are colorful, but very simple and minimalistic (only options “Play” and “Episodes”). No Japanese track and subtitles do not. No extras, either. You get more episodes PokeRap called complete (this is not a menu item, you have to jump). Once again, the price comparable to Cowboy Bebop or Big O collections, which also has 26 episodes, but these collections include the total length in the Japanese language, subtitles and extra bonuses. And jumped the field of art, DVD menus, and overall quality feel more professional.

– The episode of America “Beauty and the Beach” is missing or is in any of the sentences later. This is not that much, but get rid of the chronology of the facts established. Besides simply has no sense of time, these box sets were released, the episode was dubbed and aired on American television. So why have not been included in this list?

– These videos are not uncut and uncensored, as found in typical anime. That’s good for me because it’s not like 4Kids censored or cut a lot of things from these episodes anyway, but it’s still worth mentioning here. Digital Paint it full force, especially to cover up the original Japanese text was available. If you do not mind the first time I saw these episodes on TV, no matter now.

– The quality of video and audio are fine, and exactly I expected. Some scenes may seem kind of glitch, “but that is because the original animators went back and slowed down the framerate and muted colors infamous incident because of the attack. These scenes stand and look really funky and ridiculous, but that is not (or 4Kids Viz s) problem.

Although I love these episodes, I can not in good conscience give this collection of more than three stars, an “average” rating: these DVDs contain only the minimum is set as the “Collector’s Box.” Poor production values, with zero extras and a rather high price, hold them back from truly exceptional. If the Japanese title, a handful of extras, DVD case and stronger cast, then we’ll talk. It seems that are only slightly better than my old VHS recordings of the series, and these tapes did not cost me $ 35.

addition compare this collection to Cowboy Bebop or Big O: The three series of 26 episodes, but Cowboy and Big O just so much more. I would have expected Viz to handle Pokemon, part of a franchise of billions of dollars, with the same type of respect and reverence, these relatively unknown series.

are the 82 episodes in a season (if I counted correctly), so I suspect an Indigo League vol. 2 and 3, which should have the next 56 episodes. Then they release season 2: Orange Islands! YAY!
