The Official Nintendo Magazine UK has confirmed several English names. Doryuzu is now Excadrill, Kurumiru is now Sewaddle, Mamanbou is now Alomomola, Insect Opposition is now Struggle Bug, and Drill Liner is now Drill Run.

Numerous fan sites have posted and later removed a supposed leaked list of all Generation V Italian Pokémon names and species names. As Pokémon names are not localized in Italy, the Pokémon would also be the English names, though this is not the same case with species names. Since this list got leaked, near every site that has posted the list has removed it without reasoning as to why.

Anime Vice Community Starlets – Are you on the list?

by Pokémaster on November 5, 2010

If you are a regular user among the other Whiskey Media sister sites. You might have come across the weekly Community Spotlights. Those few should already know the gist of these articles, but for those of you still in the dark. Allow me to explain. The Community Spotlight is designed to bring notice to the community at large the accomplishments of some of the lesser known members. To shine light on those who may fall through the cracks or general awesomeness from users. These can be from a variety of actions members perform on the site every day. Writing user reviews, filling out the wiki, making lists, and writing blogs. We would prefer the content stay generally on topic of manga/anime for this showcase.

This is only the first of many to come, and one should be expected once a week (taking in consideration certain holidays). Content doesn’t have to just be informative. It can also be stuff that’s just really funny.

Wonderful World of Wikis

A special note should go to member Obsidian609 for being the top wiki point earner on Anime Vice (currently at over 357K points), and took on the daunting task for making profiles for every different breed of Pokemon. Another honorable mention for this first Spotlight goes to EganTheVile1 for his work the old school Voltron and Transformers series. Following are a list of wiki pages with impressive amount of information.

Reviewed Wonders

Writing reviews is one of my favorite hobbies on Anime Vice, but I’m not the only one. Several users really seem to enjoy showing off their opinions as well. If you’d enjoy being listed among these users. Go write a review that impresses the community and get it displayed for the Spotlight.

Lovable Lists

Users love to make their lists and at times they can be pretty informative. Though, many are just about lists of peoples’ favorite “hot girls”. Here, I want to spotlight some more unique and helpful lists.

Blog-o-sphere

To start things off I’ll show you some examples of the kind of posts that are pretty impressive. Staff member Ethan put together a full FAQ guide for just about any questions you may have on Anime Vice and it’s tools. Mod sickVisionz is trying to organize members on his project to over come One Piece‘s domination of the wiki pages due to the actions of a single, eccentric user. (I wonder who that could be? he,he) If you enjoy Naruto and BLEACH, you should sign up for his task. Also, a while back. I wrote a detailed blog post giving tips on how to fill out a wiki page for an anime episode. Some users even wrote posts with really useful news. Anime Vice does not lack for some really good blogs.

Formidable Forums

Not many users make something just a forum. Most often it’s also posted as a blog, but that’s what makes good forum posts so valuable. We really need some good forum posts for this Spotlight feature. Keep them coming.

If you have seen a wiki page, blog post, or user review you find note worthy for the spotlight. Have you worked on something special on Anime Vice? Tell me about it in a PM. Just be sure to put “Community Spotlight” in the subject line.
