Gaming and anime…there’s simply not enough time for these hobbies! Late nights have become gaming/anime fests around here. I wrap up on the site, play some games and watch some anime, and before I know it it’s time for bed! Oh well, late-night free time is better than none at all! See you in a few, short hours.
Did you think that I got my fill of talking Mighty Milky Way last night? If that article and today’s banner weren’t enough to hint at this week’s ‘End of Day’ content, perhaps this post will! We’re going to be focusing in on WayForward’s latest downloadable title this week, with impressions, a review and other goodies on the way. Tonight we have a special little goody for you all.
Exactly like the rest of you guys and gals, I didn’t have a chance to play Mighty Milky Way until today. Based on WayForward’s past titles, I was ready to shell out my virtual cash on a download of this title. I happen to believe that WayForward’s original titles are some of the best experiences you can find, and they really seem to excel at creating scrumptious download titles. Thankfully that’s exactly the feeling I get with Mighty Milky Way.
That kind of talk is better suited to impressions, which are coming later in the week. For tonight, I’d like to share some wonderful audio content from Mighty Milky Way. Below is an embed of the title song from the game. Earlier today I read some quick messageboard posts about the song, and quite a few people were singing its praises. I couldn’t wait to get some time with the game myself, and when that happened just a few hours ago, I found myself instantly addicted to that same track.
Have a listen to the song below and let us know what you think! In my opinion, it’s supremely catchy and quite memorable!
Bonus internet points to anyone that can transcribe everything the vocaloid voice is saying! I don’t know all the lyrics either, but perhaps together we can figure them out!

Nintendo’s experiments with 3D go right back in time: there was 3D Hot Rally on the Famicom Disk System, a 3D GameBoy Advance SP and every GameCube has 3D-capable circuitry inside it. Despite the company’s dabbling, not everyone was convinced that the new 3DS would be a success, so Nintendo set about changing their minds.
3DS hardware head Hideki Konno spoke to Kotaku about the experiments the company went through to convince sceptics of how the machine would make games better, starting with a series of 3D games on Nintendo Wii.
We took a special LCD screen and hooked it up to a Wii. We were able to play Mario Kart Wii on a 3D screen and we were also able to do a number of other experiments, again, sort of exploring the potential of how it could affect gameplay. For example we worked with Animal Crossing, Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Sports as well.
Talking more about how the 3D display enhanced gameplay, Konno spoke of the golf mode in Wii Sports, and how putting was much easier:
When you got to the green, you were actually able to see the undulation of the green itself and were able to understand the distance between you and the hole and how the terrain rolled up or down, side-to-side and whatnot. And not just on the greens, but on the fairway. If you were looking at a course that sloped down or had a precipitous upgrade, looking at that in 3D really brought that impact out and made it stronger.
Good to hear Konno, but we want that 3D Super Mario Galaxy, and we want it now.

The following comments come from Yoshinori Ono…
- offering post-launch DLC on the 3DS is technically feasible
- if fans want it, Capcom will update the 3D Edition with Arcade Edition content
- Japanese copies of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition will come with English voices on the cartridge due to space limitations
