A portion of a Nintendo Life interview with TT Games producer Vince Grogan…
NL: Can you tell us a little bit about the actual gameplay of Ninjago?
VG: The game is all about building a strong base while constructing an army capable of defeating your opponent. Your units are split into two types: Builders and Heroes. Builders can build and repair structures, as well as collect resources. Resources can be spent on building Hero units which can then be upgraded to gain extra abilities. Unlike our other LEGO games, instead of controlling one character, you’re in charge of controlling all the characters in your army. You can order them about by selecting them and touching on the screen where you want them to go or by touching an enemy to attack them. Once you have a healthy group of Hero units, you can use your weapons, spells and abilities against your opponent and try to take down its base.

And a DS game too
Studio n-Space has had a hand in all sorts of games over the past 15 years, from Geist right up to GoldenEye 007 and Call of Duty: Black Ops on DS. It’s proven itself extremely adept at handling the DS architecture, so the news that the team has a trio of 3DS games under wraps should please some.
The official n-Space blog recently featured a post from its founder and president Dan O’Leary, discussing the turbulence of the past six months for the developer. The team seems to have put the problems of the past behind it though, with three games for 3DS and one for DS in development, as well as a secret Kinect game too.
We’ll hear more about these secret games as E3 approaches, so place your bets now for an Activision-backed first-person shooter.

Another work week ripe for the taking. I’m going to plow through this work week and get back to some weekend fun! Let’s all hope for a work week that is quick, easy and safe for all. Mondays are always the toughest to get through, but at least we’ll have an hour more of sunlight after we get out of work/school! Now let’s get to bed so we can get this week started! See you in a few, short hours.
As most of you know, I’m tied to GoNintendo for the entire day. From the moment I wake up until the ‘End of Day’ thought, I’m working on the site. There are a few breaks in that timespan, but nothing where you can really sit down and game. That means my game-playing time doesn’t usually happen until around 3:00 AM EST. Not the best time to be gaming, but you work with the time you have!
While games fill my thoughts every day, it’s not often that a game will invade my dreams. I guess that only happens when I’m either playing a great deal of a particular game, or I’m really enjoying an experience. The last time it happened to me, I was playing Super Mario Galaxy 2. The game was bringing me so much joy, it would just bleed into my dreams. It’s not like I was running around pretending I was Mario in my dreams. I would just dream of actually playing the game. That was pretty damn fun, but waking up and playing for real was a lot better!
This last week or so, I’ve been attacked by dreams of Pokemon. Actually, I can’t even stop thinking about it when I lay down to go to bed. My mind is running a mile a minute, and usually there are all sorts of Pokemon-related stories floating around in there. I’m thinking about my Emboar taking on the Elite 4, the various Pokemon I haven’t captured, and the battles with Mom Brain that will be taking place. Then, when I fall asleep, I again dream of playing the game.
Hopefully I’m not the only one that this happens to! Like I said, I play late at night, so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it. Anyone else out there wind up having dreams about games you’re playing, or games you want to play? Leave a comment and let us know!
