Kicking off what promises to be a banner year for its global fanbase, The Pokémon Company International announced today the upcoming 14th season of the popular children’s animated series (name TBA), which is slated for a worldwide television debut in 2011. In addition to the new season, the 13th film in the Pokémon franchise (name TBA) will premiere in 2011, featuring two new characters in the highly anticipated spring 2011 international launch of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games for the Nintendo DS family of systems. The video games recently broke a sales record, becoming the fastest selling DS games ever in Japan over the first week of launch, totaling 2.55 million units.
